Between January and February, the arrival of cruise passengers to the Port of Arrecife increased by 28.4% compared to the same months of last year, according to data released by the Port Authority of Las Palmas.
All ports managed by the authority totaled 600,169 cruise passengers in the first two months of the year. The port where they increased the most was the capital of Fuerteventura (+41.2%), followed by Arrecife.
In third place, the Port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria experienced a growth of 21.4%.
The president of the Authority, Beatriz Calzada, declared: "With these figures we will present ourselves at the Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami, the main world fair of the cruise sector that will be held next April".
There "we will be able to present the new cruise terminals of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, and show the progress of the one in Las Palmas, which will be the largest cruise terminal in Europe".
Regarding the rest of the statistical data, the Port Authority of Las Palmas increases its total traffic to reach 5,398,653 tons in the annual accumulated of 2025, which represents an increase of +7.81% compared to last year, that is, 390,905 tons more than in 2024.
The growth registered for the Port of Las Palmas is +6.54%, with 4,649,135 tons in the month of February; the Port of Arrecife increases its total traffic by + 11.62%, with 320,136 tons.
For its part, in Puerto del Rosario the increase is +28.05% and 276,999 tons; the Port of Arinaga increases by +9.51%, with 51,479 tons; the Port of Salinetas also increases its total traffic by +7.47% with 100,904 tons.
