CCOO and UGT have called a strike for next Monday, October 28 to request that the retirement age of drivers of all types of transport be brought forward with the exception of taxis. This includes professionals at the wheel of heavy and light transport, parcel delivery, urban and interurban buses and discretionary buses.

Faced with the confusion, both unions clarify that "they defend the advancement of the retirement age of both salaried workers and self-employed workers and that the same blockade suffered by salaried workers in the sector is also suffered by self-employed workers even though their rights are protected by law."

Likewise, "from CCOO and UGT we understand that the professional associations of self-employed workers and the self-employed in the sector themselves agree on the need to also advance their retirement age due to the arduousness and dangerousness of the profession and therefore they should support and support the call for a strike, although in their case, since they are not salaried workers, it is a business shutdown or temporary cessation of activity," they explain.

This strike will be repeated on November 11, 28 and 29 and December 5 and 9.
