The international tender program of Proexca and the Chambers of Commerce of the Canary Islands will lead a prospecting mission to Brussels, together with Tenerife Licita and foreign promotion organizations and Chambers of Commerce of Madrid, Andalusia, Valencia, Extremadura and Asturias.

In total, 31 companies from Spain, including the Lanzarote company Ecommerce Hotels and six other companies from the Canary Islands, will participate in round tables with technicians from the European Commission, learn about the functioning of the EU tendering processes and attend B2B meetings with anchor companies based in Brussels.

Ecommerce Hotels, which will be represented in the business mission by its managing director, Pedro Montes de Oca, is a company that provides technology, advice and consulting services in e-commerce to hotels and tourist apartments.

The meeting, which will be held from September 16 to 18 at the Delegation of the Government of the Canary Islands in Brussels, will allow companies to better understand the policies, regulations and funding opportunities that may influence their expansion strategies.

The European Union has an approximate budget of 17,000 million euros, which is allocated to projects in third countries, in development aid, and which will be tendered on a regular basis.

For the seven Canary Islands companies, participating in these projects contracted through tenders will allow them to access international markets with guaranteed financing and transparent processes, reducing the uncertainty associated with internationalization and strengthening their reputation.

Visiting Brussels in situ and getting closer to the financing institutions that tender internationally is highly recommended for companies in different phases of expansion. For this reason, this strategic mission has been organized from the tender program, in collaboration with other autonomous communities.

This mission is proposed from the Canary Islands to other Autonomous Communities that are part of the Multilateral Working Group of the Interterritorial Council for Internationalization, and which is well received by the representative entities of Andalusia, Madrid, Valencia, Extremadura and Asturias, which will form, with their companies, the delegation that will travel to Brussels. This form of collaboration with other CCAA facilitates interaction with those responsible for tenders in third countries.

The mission will focus on key sectors common to the participating autonomous communities, such as water, environment, sustainability, climate change, ICTs and digitization, areas that are receiving significant EU funding.

And it has a double objective and structure, on the one hand, the agenda includes an approach to the tenders of the European Commission - through round tables with technicians from the European Commission - and, on the other hand, the approach to international partners accustomed to working on EU projects - through B2B meetings - through the EEN (European Enterprise Network) consortium.

The creation of relationships and alliances with companies that already have a track record in this type of process is essential to be able to advance in this type of business opportunities.

Due to the interest shown by the Canary Islands companies, Proexca and the Chambers of Commerce of the Canary Islands organize after the mission and for all the companies that have not been able to attend and that have interest, an online informative day on the financing lines of the EU, scheduled for the month of October, by the Delegate of Proexca in Brussels, María José Castellano.
