On Thursday, Magma Innovation Hub, the pioneering center in the Canary Islands for innovation, training, entrepreneurship and work, was inaugurated. This space, located in Arrecife, is much more than a typical coworking space, as it offers a wide range of conferences, courses and workshops in digital skills, as well as other services.
The inaugural day featured the prestigious speaker Luis Galindo. He offered two very inspiring presentations, which infected the attendees with positivism. The first of these, during the morning, was attended by prominent businessmen from the Canary Islands. The afternoon conference, on the other hand, was attended by young entrepreneurs from Lanzarote.
The event also included speeches by José Antonio Martínez, CEO of Grupo Martínez; Rosa Martín Rodríguez, director of the Foundation of said company; Puri Becerra, director of Magma Innovation Hub; and Salvador Medina, CEO of Valhalla (innovation consultancy).
Magma, a cutting-edge building designed with the best materials and technologies, is located at Calle Manolo Millares 30 in Arrecife. In a modern and professional environment, it offers its users offices, workstations, meeting rooms, classrooms for holding various events and conferences, master classes and training courses. Magma also has a relaxation and dining area, as well as a terrace. In addition, it provides 'magmers' with different tools to carry out their work and gives them access to an exclusive application.
Also highlight Magma's role as an entrepreneurship center in the Canary Islands. The space will be in direct contact with regional universities, forming part of DEMOLA, an initiative promoted by the Government of the Canary Islands in order to promote the talent of young Canarians. In this sense, Magma is starting this commitment to entrepreneurship by accelerating two projects focused on the development of sustainable solutions and new technologies for the tourism sector and on the development of drones that add value to the Canary Islands industry.
Leading project of Martínez Hermanos
José Antonio Martínez stressed that in Grupo Martínez, "each generation has contributed a step that has made this group an engine of economic and business activity for Lanzarote and the Canary Islands." "Magma is the last step, in a firm commitment to innovation and the professionalization of the company, launching new projects that give us a greater capacity for growth and modernization."
Thus, this pioneering project reflects the evolution of Grupo Martínez and represents a milestone in the digital transformation process in the almost 100 years of history of this company. Magma Innovation Hub bursts into a booming market in Spain with the aim of becoming a meeting point for professionals from different sectors. For this reason, the space has been conceived to promote networking and contribute to a greater development of the business and economic fabric of the Canary Islands.
