January 2023 leaves a balance of 5,014 companies in Lanzarote, according to the Lanzarote Data Center with figures from the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics (ISTAC). A total of 9 newly created companies have joined the island's business fabric in the first month of the year.

With its incorporation, the surpassing of the threshold of 5,000 companies that the island of rabbits recovered in December of last year is consolidated, after the numerous closures that occurred due to the covid 19 pandemic from March 2020.

The island had managed to exceed 5,000 businesses for the first time in its history during the fall of 2017 and remained above that figure at the end of 2019, when 5,090 companies were counted.

A figure that, by the end of March 2020, had already plummeted to 4,530 companies. And it continued to decline. At the end of March of the following year there were only 4,447.
