Hospiten announces the construction of a new hospital in Punta Cana

Hospiten Punta Cana is projected as a benchmark for innovation, sustainability, and medical care of excellence in the Caribbean

With an investment of 80 million dollars and more than 11,000 m² of construction, the center will have 68 hospitalization rooms, 23 consulting rooms, 16 emergency boxes, 8 ICU boxes, and a state-of-the-art surgical block with three operating rooms, including a hybrid one with an advanced imaging system with hemodynamics.

The project, which was presented by Juan José Hernández Rubio, executive president of Hospiten, and, will generate more than 300 jobs during the construction phase and will allow the hiring of 250 professionals between healthcare and administrative staff, which will contribute to the strengthening of the local economy and the development of medical tourism in the region.  

Hospiten Punta Cana seeks to offer quality medical care, with advanced technology such as spectral CT, AI-assisted MRI, 4D sonography with AI, 3D mammography, and minimally invasive surgery operating rooms, guaranteeing international standards of excellence. 

The hospital will be built with sustainability and energy efficiency criteria, including renewable energy generation, selection of low-impact materials, and industrialized construction. It is expected to achieve LEED Zero, Well Platinum, and Net Zero certifications, in addition to the Joint Commission International (JCI) Quality Approval, ensuring facilities that combine environmental care and patient well-being.

Hernández Rubio affirmed that "the construction of Hospiten Punta Cana stems from the conviction that health is a fundamental pillar for the development of society. Our objective is to bring first-class medicine closer to the region, strengthen the health security of the tourist destination, and contribute to the social and economic development of Punta Cana and the entire Dominican Republic”.

Hospiten Punta Cana will also boost the local economy and the development of medical tourism, attracting international patients seeking quality care at competitive costs, integrating health and tourist experience. The center reaffirms Hospiten's commitment to the community, through collaboration with local institutions, prevention programs, and job creation.
