A total of five companies from La Graciosa have joined the Turismo Emprende en Verde project of the Tourism Federation of Lanzarote (FTL). With these, there are already 30 business entities and self-employed individuals participating in this project that seeks to promote the transition towards more sustainable business models for micro-enterprises and self-employed individuals in the tourism sector.
The Turismo Emprende Verde project aims to promote sustainability plans aligned with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations and the 2030 Agenda of the Canary Islands for the transition towards a green and circular economy, electric mobility and the reduction of the carbon footprint, among other actions.
The president of the FTL, Susana Pérez, emphasized “the success of the adhesion of these small companies from La Graciosa to the project, crossing the limits of the island with it and allowing the growth of the business fabric of Graciosa in the tourism sector, in addition to giving visibility to this great initiative.”
Likewise, the president thanked “the effort and commitment shown by the new companies to be part of the project that, despite their small size, try to promote the green and circular economy by committing to a sustainable management of their businesses."
"From the technical area of the Federation, we offer advice and support to the companies in the tourism sector to facilitate the transition towards business models within the framework of a green economy and circular following the guidelines of the European Union and thus contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals promoted by the UN and the 2030 Agenda of the Government of the Canary Islands", added Pérez.
Turismo Emprende en Verde is a project promoted by the FTL within the framework of the Strategic Plan of Subsidies of the Canarian Employment Service financed through the Next Generation EU funds for economic recovery.
