Binter will achieve its record number of daily flights next Easter, coinciding with its 33rd anniversary. Specifically, on Sunday, April 17, it will make 263 journeys. The previous peak day was December 20, 2019, with 240 flights, a figure that will also be exceeded on April 8 and 13, with 255 and 242 flights scheduled respectively.

In addition to providing the necessary flights to meet the inter-island mobility needs of residents and visitors, since 2005 it has been incorporating international routes, and since 2018 national routes, with direct connections from the Canary Islands. Thus, at present, Binter connects the Archipelago with international destinations in West Africa -Marrakech, Agadir, Guelmin, El Aaiún, Dakhla, Nouakchott and Dakar- and Europe -Madeira, Marseille, Toulouse, Lille, Turin and Venice, and national destinations such as Vigo, A Coruña, Asturias, Santander, Vitoria-Gasteiz, San Sebastián, Pamplona, Zaragoza, Mallorca, Murcia and Jerez de la Frontera.

Soon, the airline will announce the new routes with which it will expand its foreign schedule for the summer season.

Reinforcement in the non-capital islands, with a new base in Lanzarote

To reinforce connectivity from the non-capital islands, it continues to increase its presence in them and since February it has a new base in Lanzarote, where it has allocated several complete crews.

This change in operations with Lanzarote allows to increase the departure connections from the island first thing in the morning, thanks to the fact that two planes stay there overnight. Thus, to the departure flight to Gran Canaria, at 7 in the morning, a departure flight to Tenerife is added, at the same time.

Other non-capital islands also have departure connections first thing in the morning. This is the case of Fuerteventura and La Palma, where an aircraft stays overnight, in order to offer a flight to Gran Canaria at 7 in the morning, in the first case, and a flight to Tenerife at 8 in the morning, in the second.

In addition, since this month of March Binter also has a base at Tenerife South Airport.

Arrival of a new ATR 72 - 600

One of the keys to continue increasing daily flights and routes is the constant renovation of aircraft by Binter, which has meant since 2002 an investment of more than 1,250 million dollars in the purchase of 46 aircraft, from manufacturers ATR and Embraer.

Coinciding with the celebration of Binter's 33rd anniversary, at the end of March the second ATR 72-600 will arrive, of the 6 new aircraft announced last November, which are added to the other 18 aircraft of this modern model that the airline already has.

The ATR 72-600 has the latest technologies in the field of assisted navigation tools and the highest standards of comfort for passengers. The aircraft has 72 comfortable seats, with thinner seats that allow more space between rows and luggage compartments 30% larger. Likewise, the seats have been equipped with LED lighting to make the flight more pleasant for passengers.

This type of aircraft is more respectful with the environment and can take off and land on shorter runways, which allows it to operate in airports where other types of aircraft cannot.

For its longer journeys, Binter has five jet aircraft in its fleet, model Embraer E195-E2, one of the most modern and environmentally friendly aircraft, with which it has not only managed to reduce fuel consumption but also CO2 emissions and noise pollution.
