The two tourists who tested positive for coronavirus in Lanzarote this Thursday have not been transferred to the hospital and are in isolation in the hotel room where they were staying, in the town of Playa Blanca. As confirmed by various sources to La Voz, they are a couple who arrived on the island on a flight from Madrid, although they would not be Spanish.

As for the hotel, for the moment no measures have been taken such as those taken in the Tenerife establishment in Adeje, and it remains open to the public. In fact, the Ministry of Health has not even wanted to make the name of the hotel public, although they say that the situation is under control and that protocols are being followed.

Among other things, as confirmed by other sources to this media, they have spoken with the two affected to find out what contacts they may have had in recent days. According to these sources, these two tourists arrived on the island on Tuesday and the next day began to notice some mild symptoms. At that time, in addition, the couple spoke with the sister of one of them, who informed him that she had just tested positive for coronavirus and recommended that they be tested.

Since then, these two tourists have communicated the situation to the hotel and remained in the room, which is what the protocol establishes. Thus, after calling the emergency numbers enabled for this, it was the health personnel who went to the establishment to carry out the tests, confirming this Thursday the positive in the first test.

For its part, from the hotel association Asolan they have told La Voz that in the hotel there is "tranquility", that the two affected tourists "are well" and that this morning they were waiting for the result of the second test that is carried out.
