The president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Astrid Pérez, received this Thursday the bill of the General Budgets of the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands for 2026 from the Minister of Finance of the Government of the Canary Islands, Matilde Asián.
An act that marks the beginning of the parliamentary procedure that is expected to conclude in the plenary session on December 16. "The Budget Law sets out what will happen in our archipelago next year; now, the Regional Chamber will address this bill with the work of the deputies who will contribute their proposals," said the president.
The Minister of Finance, Matilde Asián, highlighted that this year the Autonomous Community has an initial credit of 12,491 million euros for 2026. "This represents an increase of 7% compared to the initial budgets of 2025," Asián pointed out.
