The vaccination teams of the Canary Islands Health Service have already managed to immunize, as of this Monday, August 23, 73.01 percent of the target population --over 12 years of age--, which represents a total of 1,431,532 people out of 1,960,774.
In this way, 2,883,875 doses of vaccines against Covid-19 have already been administered, out of the 3,307,610 received, which represents 87.19 percent, as reported by the Government of the Canary Islands through the Ministry of Health in a statement.
In the archipelago, 81.89 percent of the target population is already vaccinated against COVID-19, since there are already 1,605,698 people who have received at least one dose of the vaccine.
Currently, groups 1 to 7 (health and social health personnel, vulnerable people, or groups with essential functions such as teachers and police officers) are vaccinated with two doses between 99.5 and 100 percent.
By age groups, people between 60 and 65 years old have received the complete regimen 60.02 percent, while 82.27 have at least one dose; on the other hand, those people between 50 and 59 years old amount to 95.12 percent with a complete regimen.
Likewise, people between 40 and 49 years old are 74.58 percent who have received the complete regimen (including those immunized with Janssen), compared to 51.77 percent of people between 30 and 39 years old, and 43.96 of those between 20 and 29 years old with a complete regimen.
Finally, people between 12 and 19 years old already have one dose 66.36 percent, while 27.67 have been fully immunized.
On the other hand, of the 253 people admitted to conventional beds in the last two weeks, 64 percent were not immunized, a figure that in the case of those admitted to the ICU rises to 81 percent.
