Six deaths from Covid and 1,186 new positives since Friday in the Canary Islands

One of the deceased was 51 years old, while the rest were between 78 and 97 years old.

Since last Friday, the Canary Islands has added a total of six deaths due to the coronavirus. In addition, the archipelago registers 1,186 new positive cases of Covid-19 among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is being monitored after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.

Regarding the deceased, four took place in Tenerife and two in Gran Canaria. One of those people was 51 years old, while the rest were between 78 and 97 years old. All had previous pathologies and were in hospital.

Therefore, the accumulated cases of coronavirus among this group in the Canary Islands amounts to 70,101 people. Thus, the Accumulated Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 869.75 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 473.24.

Currently, there are 276 people hospitalized with coronavirus in the archipelago, of which 20 are in the ICU and the rest, 256, are on the ward.
