The regional Executive has approved the decree law approving the payment of an extraordinary benefit of 250 euros to holders of non-contributory pensions, the Social Assistance Fund and the Minimum Income Guarantee Subsidy residing in the Canary Islands.

This extraordinary supplement, of a unique and final nature, will reach a total of 42,795 pensioners in the Canary Islands, mainly from non-contributory pensions, and also from the FAS and LISMI, for which a budget of 10,698,750 euros will be allocated.

This payment, which will be made by bank transfer to the account of the beneficiaries, is approved for the third consecutive year for holders of Non-Contributory Pensions, the Social Assistance Fund, the Minimum Income Guarantee Subsidy in order to alleviate the social effects derived from Covid-19.

The extraordinary benefit regulated in this Decree Law will be excluded and will not be taken into account for the calculation of income as it is a final aid that compensates for the expenses incurred by pensioners during the year 2022 derived from COVID-19, which have been aggravated by the social situation derived from the war in Ukraine.
