The Canary Islands have registered a total of five deaths linked to the coronavirus since last Friday. Of those deaths, three were reported in Gran Canaria and two in Tenerife, with ages between 82 and 92, who had previous pathologies and were in hospital.
In addition, 229 new positives for Covid-19 have been recorded in the archipelago among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is monitored after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.
Therefore, the accumulated cases of coronavirus among this group in the Canary Islands amount to 97,784 people. Thus, the Cumulative Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 208.76 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 97.11.
Currently, there are 79 people hospitalized for coronavirus in the Archipelago, of which six are in the ICU and the rest, 73, are on the ward.
