The Cabildo of La Palma has opened a popular consultation, which is not binding, with the aim of knowing the thinking of the population in relation to the name of the volcano that was in eruption from September 19 to December 13, 2021.
The ten proposed names that are currently active are: Montaña de Tajogaite volcano, Tajogaite Volcano, Tajogaite Volcano, Volcano of Misfortune, Guayota Volcano, Cumbre Vieja Volcano, Cabeza de Vaca Volcano, Cabeza Vaca Volcano, Hoya de Las Plantas Volcano and Aridane Volcano. The process will be open until June 30 through this link.
Anyone can participate in the voting. Of course, at the time of delivery of the results will be shown some data that will refer to the global computation, another only with the computation of the three affected municipalities, and another with the rest of the palmeros municipalities and the preferences that come from outside.
