The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has notified this Thursday a new record of coronavirus infections by counting a total of 5,261 positives. In the last hours, the death of seven people between 69 and 94 years of age has been reported, of which four are from Tenerife, two from Gran Canaria and one from Fuerteventura, all with previous pathologies and in hospital admission. The total number of deaths since the pandemic began reaches 1,132.
The Accumulated Incidence (AI) continues to grow and at 7 days it stands at 1,043.08 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 1,670.07 cases.
By territories, Tenerife continues to lead the daily cases and notifies 2,889 positives that increase its active cases to 23,715, while Gran Canaria certifies 1,706 cases, and 12,470 are active. Lanzarote adds 322 cases with 1,674 active while Fuerteventura registers 126 new infections that raise its active cases to 2,093. La Palma adds another 158 cases with 674 still active; La Gomera notifies 22 cases raising its assets to 203, and El Hierro adds 37 cases, so it has 16 assets.
Until this Thursday, 2,733,656 diagnostic tests have been carried out in the Canary Islands, with 22.1% of positives.
In the accumulated of the entire pandemic, the Canary Islands has 149,046, with 41,059 active cases, of which 350 (-5) are hospitalized on the floor and 67 in the ICU (no variation).
