Canary Islands registers 926 new cases of Covid and 21 deaths in four days

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has registered in the last four days 926 new positives in COVID-19 among people over 60 years of age and 21 deaths in this period.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, fourteen of the deaths have been reported in Tenerife, six in Gran Canaria and one in El Hierro and all the people, aged between 56 and 96 years, had previous pathologies and were in hospital.

The accumulated cases of coronavirus among this group amounts in the Canary Islands to 91,282 people and the accumulated incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 1,108.19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 452.64.

Health indicates that since July 8 there has been a sustained decrease in the accumulated incidence at 7 days, when 913 cases per 100,000 inhabitants were reached.
