The Canary Islands has registered 243 new positive cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total accumulated since the beginning of the pandemic to 106,323 cases, while regretting the death of one person in Tenerife and another in Gran Canaria, pending validation by Public Health.
According to the Ministry of Health, there are currently 5,439 active patients, of which 37 are admitted to the ICU and 223 remain hospitalized.
The Cumulative Incidence at 7 days in the Canary Islands stands at 113.97 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 14 days at 218.48 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
By islands, Tenerife adds 73 cases with a total of 50,116 accumulated cases and 2,195 epidemiologically active cases; and Gran Canaria has 40,800 accumulated cases, 101 more than the previous day and 2,345 active.
Meanwhile, Lanzarote registers 12 new cases with 7,683 accumulated and 205 epidemiologically active; and Fuerteventura has 5,474 accumulated cases, with 43 new cases, and 578 active.
La Palma adds nine new positives, bringing the total to 1,307 accumulated and 92 active; La Gomera four new positives, bringing the total to 472 accumulated and its assets are 22; and El Hierro one new positive, bringing the total to 470 and has two active cases.
Finally, as of this Wednesday, a total of 2,455,489 diagnostic tests have been carried out on the islands, of which 5,291 correspond to the previous day
