The Canary Islands has a total of 1,042 new positive cases of Covid-19 among people over 60 years of age since last Friday, which is the population group that is being monitored after passing the acute phase of the pandemic. In addition, the archipelago mourns six deaths in recent days, five in Gran Canaria and one in Tenerife.
The deceased, aged between 72 and 89 years old, had previous pathologies and were in hospital.
Therefore, the accumulated cases of coronavirus among this group amounts to 67,553 people in the Canary Islands. Thus, the Accumulated Incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 814.23 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 391.87.
Currently, there are 239 people hospitalized with coronavirus in the archipelago, of which 12 are in the ICU and the rest, 227, are on the floor.
