The Government of the Canary Islands has made available to the Canary citizens who are in Colombia a telephone number for assistance and information after the magnitude 7.4 earthquake that shook the South American country this Monday.
In a message on social networks, the Presidency has informed that said number is (+57) 310 778 7794, to which any Canary inhabitant who is currently in the South American country, whether a resident or just visiting, and wishes to receive any type of advice or information regarding this natural disaster, can turn.
The Directorate General for Emigration has enabled this number thanks to the collaboration of the +34 Foundation, the Presidency specified in said message.
The earthquake took place this Monday at 7:34 AM local time and had a magnitude of 7.4, the earthquake that has been felt with the most force in the last decade in the country. This was reported by the Geological Survey of Colombia. Furthermore, its epicenter was at a depth of between 88 and 103 kilometers.
Since Monday afternoon, both the Canary president, Fernando Clavijo, and his vice president, Manuel Domínguez, had already conveyed messages of solidarity and support to the victims of this earthquake, of which the latest provisional report already speaks of at least 132 dead.
