Canarians between 50 and 59 years old can now request an appointment to receive the booster vaccine against covid

On non-capital islands, people can also go without an appointment from this Tuesday

The Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands has reported that people between the ages of 50 and 59 can now make an appointment to receive the booster dose of the vaccine against covid-19.

In a statement, the regional department has indicated that those born between 1962 and 1971 and who have been vaccinated with mRNA (Pzifer or Moderna) can make an appointment. This group, made up of 291,194 people, will be able to receive the booster dose after six months.

In addition to those over 50, those vaccinated with two doses of AstraZeneca (or one of AstraZéneca and one of Pfizer) of any age range can make an appointment. This group, made up of 13,200 people, can be administered the booster dose after three months.

Likewise, the Ministry of Health has recalled that people under 50 years of age who were vaccinated with Janssen can receive their dose after three months.

To receive this booster dose, they can apply through the miCitaPrevia app of the SCS or through the same application on the web or by calling 012, 922 470 012 or 928 301012.

Meanwhile, the population over 50 years of age and those vaccinated with two doses of AstraZeneca, residing on the non-capital islands, can make an appointment to receive the additional dose or go without an appointment to the vaccination points on each island.
