The Executive Committee of the Canary Islands Federation of Municipalities has shown this Wednesday its concern about the imminent end of the Declaration of the State of Alarm, scheduled for this Sunday, May 9.

In a meeting held this Wednesday, the mayors have agreed to request “with the utmost urgency” to the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Ángel Víctor Torres, a clarification on what control measures will be maintained after May 9 and what new measures will be applied to replace those that cease to apply.

The 19 leaders agree that this situation generates "great uncertainty" to the town councils. For this reason, the president of FECAM, María Concepción Brito, has sent a letter this afternoon to the head of the Executive, in which she requests "more information in the face of the new scenario that is approaching".
