Astrid Pérez defends in Italy a Europe that adapts its policies to the singularities of each territory

The president of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, Astrid Pérez, participated this Thursday in the Trento Economics Festival, in Italy.

The meeting brought together European economists, innovators, and institutional representatives to share ideas and perspectives that contribute to interpreting current challenges and building the future of Europe from territorial diversity.

During her speech, Astrid Pérez defended the need for Europe to take into account "the singularities of each territory, fundamentally those areas far from population centers and overseas."

"All Europeans have the right to develop and progress regardless of where we grow up, develop, or live," stated Pérez, who insisted that "if we defend equality in Europe, actions must adapt to the realities of the regions."

The President of the Parliament of the Canary Islands also highlighted the principle of subsidiarity and defended the need to advance in the decentralization of the management of European resources, so that regions can respond more effectively to their specific needs and territorial singularities.


The forum also included the participation of the President of the Regional Council of Valle d'Aosta, Stefano Aggravi; the Vice-President of the Parliament of the Brussels-Capital Region, Mohamed Ouriaghli; the President of the Regional Council of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, Roberto Paccher; and the head of the press office of the Regional Council of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol, Gianpaolo Tessari.
