The Ministry of Health has reported this Friday that during the last three days 261 new positives in covid-19 have been reported in the archipelago among people over 60 years of age, which is the population group that is monitored after passing the acute phase of the pandemic.
Therefore, the accumulated number of coronavirus cases among this group in the Canary Islands amounts to 97,555 people, and the accumulated incidence for this age group at 14 days stands at 200.68 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and at 7 days at 104.78.
In the Archipelago there are 83 people admitted for coronavirus, of which five are in the ICU and the rest, 78, on the ward.
In the last three days, two deaths have been registered in Gran Canaria, and they were of people between 67 and 70 years old, had previous pathologies and were in hospital.
The Ministry of Health has also indicated that since August 12, and in compliance with the Resolution of August 5 of the General Directorate of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, the number of beds occupied by patients with pneumonia or acute respiratory infection or other pathology that is considered attributable to an infection by SARS-CoV-2 is taken into account in the calculation of beds occupied by patients with covid-19.
