The sewage system in the La Cucharas area, in Costa Teguise, has overflowed early this Wednesday, causing a strong smell of sewage, according to a reader of La Voz who was at the scene.
Furthermore, according to this witness, the businesses and homes near this location do not have running water.
As can be seen in the images, water is gushing out of one of the manholes in the Anfiteatro de Las Cucharas, causing a river of sewage that has flooded the promenade.
For the moment, it is unknown whether the City Council will request an analysis of the water on this beach from Public Health to check if it is suitable for swimming, nor the cause of this overflow.
