Residents of the Valterra neighborhood denounce a "squat" in a paralyzed construction. Citizens express their "concern" about the "commune of drug addicts" that has emerged inside the homes. One of the streets in the neighborhood has become an "illegal drug sales point", they report.
"No matter what time of day it is, fights and destruction of furniture are very frequent," says the group of neighbors. In addition, the place serves as a "garbage dump for consumers" who live in the area.
Their daily life in the neighborhood is affected by the behavior of the cohabitants, who do not even let them rest. "We are very concerned about the situation and the impossibility of resting, as well as walking peacefully with our young children," they add. The little ones must be accompanied by their parents at all times for security, they acknowledge.
Numerous fires have occurred in the area, in which state security forces have had to intervene. Because of all this, the citizens have decided to file a complaint on the Arrecife City Council portal, asking that it "proceed according to its powers."
