A reader has contacted La Voz to report the deterioration of the water supply network in the town of Guatiza, in the municipality of Teguise.
"Dear Consortium 'Without' Water of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, given the bankrupt management of the previous manager, with great emphasis, a radical change of management has been carried out (a year before the elections, what a coincidence), with everything very nice in words," this resident begins to state.
In this regard, he assures that water outages have increased in Guatiza and "things have only gotten worse." "Before, you knew you had a fixed day a week when they cut off the water, apart from the breakdown, now it would be Wednesday at midnight," he assures.
"On Friday morning at 10:00 AM the water returned after it had been cut off on Wednesday afternoon, then the power outage. It returned on Sunday morning and on Monday morning the water was cut off again and by phone they tell you there is a breakdown and that it will be repaired during the day," he says.
"On Tuesday, still without water, by phone they tell you that the breakdown is long to fix and this Wednesday morning without water, by phone they answer that they don't know about the breakdown but there have been electrical problems and around 12:00 PM the water should return," he continues. However, the schedule indicates that they will cut off the water again due to scheduled outages until Friday morning.
"The response on the phone is that they must comply with the established outages, but at least if the outages could be postponed to fill cisterns or do laundry without the anxiety of looking to see if there is still water in the tank or not," he points out.
The resident criticizes that "for the Consortium and its friends, these are not real problems, the real problems are building consensus, holding press conferences where facts, not words, are presented."
"A Consortium should be a society that helps people, that in case of need is activated to solve problems, not the other way around, but that's another story," he concludes.
