A reader has contacted La Voz to report the closure of the day center managed by the company Mimara, located on Gómez Ulla street in Arrecife, following the purchase of the building by the Cabildo de Lanzarote.
According to them, the center will close this Friday, August 7, after users and workers were informed on July 27 of the acquisition of the property by the Cabildo. "From that moment on, the entire process unfolded in just a few days: on July 29, families were contacted to inform them, on the 30th, interviews were conducted for the relocation of users, and on the 31st, Mimara communicated the termination of the staff," they assure.
Thus, they criticize that "to date, families have not received any written communication about the closure or the procedure followed."
Furthermore, many families consider that the alternatives offered "do not guarantee the same care model that they received at the center," which is why they have had to manage the relocation of their relatives on their own.
At the same time, they have expressed their gratitude to the center's professionals for their dedication and the treatment received.
Families now expect the Cabildo to explain the reasons for this decision and the procedure followed, as at no time was an informational meeting held to explain the closure or its consequences for users, families, and workers.
