Several residents of Caleta de Famara have gotten in touch with La Voz to denounce the poor condition of the LZ - 403 road through which they must drive every year when the Volcano Triathlon is held.
The event, which will be held this Saturday, April 25, forces the closure of access to the town by road and the residents of the Los Noruegos urbanization must travel this path to be able to leave the town. It is a dirt road that runs through Las Laderas and which is in very bad condition due to the abundant rains of autumn and winter.
Therefore, the residents ask the Teguise City Council to condition the path to be able to leave their homes without problems. This situation, furthermore, can have serious consequences if it is a medical emergency.
For his part, Eugenio Robayna, councilor of Traffic and Mobility of the Teguise City Council, has explained to La Voz that he already spoke with the event organization. "I told Club La Santa that that road is in very bad condition due to the rains," he has assured.
In addition, he has revealed that he has become aware that the detour will occur via the LZ - 403 this very Thursday. "I have told the neighbors who called me that Club La Santa has to find an alternative because the road is impassable," he has pointed out.
Regarding the conditioning of the road, which corresponds to the Teguise City Council, he has advanced that two days before the test there is no time. "It will have to be repaired properly when we have the road tender," he has concluded.
