A reader has contacted La Voz to report that he had to clean a section of Chalana street, in the Peñamar urbanization, due to "the bad smells and lack of maintenance".

This and other residents of Puerto del Carmen manifest that the accumulation of dirt and problems had caused bad smells and difficulties in walking through the area, generating discomfort for the residents.

Faced with this situation, this resident decided to act on his own and carry out the cleaning to "recover minimum conditions for passage and prevent the bad smells from continuing to affect residents".

The video shows the conditions in which the area was and how the resident himself had to intervene to remove the dirt and facilitate transit again, as there were cardboard boxes and other waste that obstructed transit.

Residents consider it "worrying that residents themselves have to assume this type of action in the face of problems that affect health, accessibility, and living conditions".

Residents demand that adequate and permanent maintenance and cleaning measures be adopted, as well as a solution to the problem that is causing water and dirt to accumulate in the area.
