One of the healthcare staff members at the Molina Orosa Hospital has contacted La Voz to express her displeasure about the lack of air conditioning in the waiting area of the center's outpatient clinics.
According to her, despite the extreme heat from the heatwave, "there is no air conditioning" and, even though the hospital management has been informed about this situation, they have not solved the problem.
"I am outraged," she states, assuring that some of the patients who come for surgery, those waiting for a family member, or those arriving to get a document at patient services suffer fainting spells due to low blood pressure and hypoglycemia.
"They ask for water and there is none, nor cups. But what world do we live in?" she criticizes. "Colleagues are working in inhumane conditions, as are the patients," she continues.
Furthermore, she assures that after discussing what happened with her superiors, one of them argued that he "did not have the budget for cups or water for the patients."
