A resident of Yaiza has complained, once again, that there is "favoritism" in the awarding of stalls at the municipality's festivities. This citizen, who prefers to remain anonymous, assures that she has been setting up food and drink stands for 20 years at local celebrations and that in recent years it has become increasingly difficult for her to access an award.
According to what she has stated to this media outlet, the Yaiza City Council published the announcement to receive offers for the stalls at the Fiestas de Los Remedios on a Monday at 2:00 p.m. and closed it on Friday of the same week at 2:00 p.m. This citizen has added that, usually, a week's time is given to be able to apply.
Although the Yaiza City Council has assured this resident that the awards are given in order of entry of applications, she does not believe these explanations and insists that there are preferences when distributing the booths.
Requests the records of the applications
For this reason, she has requested from the council, through an entry record, that she be sent the applications sent to the council to see if it is true that the other people who were lucky were the ones who submitted their applications first.
"They say that supposedly in a millisecond up to 30 records can enter, but I ask them for the entry record files and they started not giving me the stalls and denying that I don't submit the applications on time," she continued.
In this sense, she has also highlighted that there is a specific stall that, although it should only open for the duration of the festivities, remained open in Los Remedios last weekend beyond 3:00 in the morning.
