A reader has contacted La Voz to report the conditions in which the El Reducto skatepark has been found after the Arrecife City Council moved it to install the stage for the San Ginés 2025 festivities.
According to the young man, "they have emptied the skatepark and moved the modules to an area, destroying what little was left of them." "I can't think of a time when the competent authorities decide to move a stage that in its original place did not harm any public use facility, although it probably did harm the neighbors," he continues.
Due to this action by the City Council, the modules have suffered damage, which makes it difficult to practice this sport again, since the structures have holes and damage at the beginning of the ramps.
In addition, the reader states that "in this public space, an Olympic sport is practiced, because it is no longer a sport for 'losers'."
Therefore, he points out that "we are fed up with being laughed at, every year the festivities get bigger and bigger and we residents get less and less... we are not happy with the decision that the politicians have made in this regard."
