A reader has contacted La Voz to report the interruption of the bus service on Carretera de Los Mármoles, in Arrecife, due to roadworks at the height of the Traffic Office. Furthermore, according to this citizen, the bus on this route also does not stop in the Los Alonso area.

This resident, who lives in the area, uses public transport to take her son to summer camp, but now finds herself in a situation where it is impossible to reach that destination without having to pay for a taxi. "They charged me ten euros because there was a huge traffic jam," she indicates.

Furthermore, she points out that the solar panel at the stop, which provides bus arrival information, is still working, causing confusion among users, as there was a sign indicating it was out of service. "There is a sign, but there were tourists and people who had just finished work waiting at the stop, and I gave them a number to call taxis," she says. "One of them said that this island is not prepared for public transport, and I was mortified," she continues.

However, the taxi service is also not effective. "This morning I had to take my son to camp and I had to make more than twenty calls because they don't answer the phone," she highlighted.

Despite having called the Cabildo de Lanzarote to demand explanations for this situation and ask for a solution, the institution told her that it is the responsibility of the Arrecife City Council, which is carrying out the works.

"The only solution they gave me was to go to Los Mármoles to catch the bus and get to the camp, but I have a small child and it's very hot," she points out.
