"An orchard in Costa Teguise is becoming a barren land and a danger"

A resident of Residencial Urbis denounces the "ecological disaster" that is occurring in the area. In addition, he fears that the amount of dry leaves could generate a fire with the high temperatures...

The palm trees and other types of vegetation near the Urbis residential complex have been drying up and degrading in recent months "in a regrettable way". This is what a resident denounces, who also fears that with the high temperatures a fire could break out in the area.

In his letter, which he has sent to La Voz and also to the Teguise City Council, this resident explains that the problem began a few months ago, when workers went to clean, cut and sanitize that garden area between Residencial Urbis and the Los Tulipnaes urbanization. "They cut to the chase, disabling the entire irrigation system", says this resident.

Since then, he explains that "gradually" the trees and plants have been deteriorating, leaving "a large amount of dry leaves" in an area where he says a fire truck cannot access. "Given the high temperatures and the dryness caused, it could lead to a disaster of unimaginable dimensions, both economic, tourist and personal", says this resident, who fears that a fire could break out at night.

In addition, he also states that "the Palmeral on Los Crotos street is left unattended by the institution." "What should be a hallmark of Costa Teguise, an area of expansion and an admirable orchard and oasis, is becoming a barren land and a great danger", he denounces.

For all these reasons, he requests an urgent response from the City Council, so that it takes his complaint into account and launches "actions to avoid major misfortunes."
