Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote once again narrowly missed out on a prize during their visit to KH-7 BM Granollers, but ultimately fell by a tight 23-22 scoreline at the Palau d’Esports, in a match corresponding to matchday 17 of the Liga Guerreras Iberdrola, characterized by equality, defensive intensity, and a lack of accuracy at key moments.

The match began with Zonzamas showing a very serious defense, although somewhat inaccurate in attack, which kept the score balanced in the early stages (2-2, min. 5). As the minutes passed, Granollers began to show greater offensive clarity and achieved a slight advantage after a goal from Ona Vila (6-4, min. 12), although the Lanzaroteñas did not lose their grip on the game, also sustained by the interventions of Valentina Menucci in goal.

Approaching the 20th minute, Mbongo Masseu took offensive prominence to close the gap (8-7) and, shortly after, equalize with an outside shot (8-8), forcing the home coach to call a timeout (20:50). After the restart, a new counter-attack by Masseu put Zonzamas ahead (8-9), but Granollers responded by raising the tempo and regaining the initiative before halftime (12-10, min. 28). Juan J. Rivera called a timeout at 29:00 and a goal by Luna Voncina on the buzzer left the score at 13-11 at halftime.

The second half began with less offensive fluidity from Zonzamas, who didn't manage to score until the 35th minute with a goal from Daniela Jerónimo (15-12). Even so, the team got back into the game with a penalty converted by Gleinys Reyes (17-16, min. 42). The "batateras" tried, but time and again they ran into a inspired Marta Mera under the posts, preventing the equalizer as the match entered its decisive phase (19-18, min. 51)

After a timeout by Granollers in the 53rd minute, the home team widened the gap again, supported by their goalkeeper (21-19, min. 56). The expulsion of Judith Vizuete for triple exclusion gave Zonzamas some breathing room, and Marie Louis reduced the deficit (22-20, min. 58). In the final minute, Gleinys Reyes made it 22-21, but a lapse in concentration allowed an immediate goal from Granollers that proved decisive. Zonzamas could only improve the score to the final 23-22, once again falling short of earning points

A defeat that leaves mixed feelings for Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote, who once again competed toe-to-toe against a top-tier rival, but paid dearly for small errors in a tight finish
