El Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote could not add points in a tense and significant duel against CBM Morvedre, a direct rival for permanence, and fell 20-24 at the Municipal Pavilion of San Bartolomé in a match where much more was at stake than two points. Everything that was gained—or lost—was directly aimed at the salvation phase, and the Valencian team managed the key moments better.

The match began with maximum equality and visible nerves on both sides. Zonzamas kept pace thanks to intense defense and individual plays, such as Brenda Roger's penetration for the 2-2 in the 5th minute. However, the Batatero team struggled to find offensive continuity, staying in the game more due to defensive solidity than attacking fluidity (5-5, min. 11).

Juan José Rivera called a timeout at 17:34 with the score at 6-7, seeking a change of pace and greater offensive clarity. Marie Louis took charge and scored the 10-10 equalizer in the 23rd minute during a very tough stretch, but Zonzamas lost its offensive footing again, and the half ended in a 13-13 tie.

After the restart, visiting goalkeeper Paola Santos was key with two consecutive saves that allowed her team to pull ahead (13-15, min. 33). Zonzamas then went many minutes without scoring, with Marie Louis breaking the drought on a counter-attack in the 39th minute (14-15). Even so, Morvedre settled into a comfortable three-goal lead (15-18, min. 47), forcing another local timeout when barely two goals had been scored in the entire second half.

Gleinys Reyes gave Zonzamas some breathing room with two quick counter-attacks in the 49th and 50th minutes (17-19), but the visiting team managed to slow down the game, prolonging possessions and minimizing risks. The home team failed to clearly develop the few attacks they were allowed, and the scoreline began to widen definitively (18-22, min. 55). Brenda Roger showed pride to score the 20-23, and the match was decided

A tough defeat for Zonzamas Plus Car Lanzarote, who see their situation in the fight for permanence complicated in a match that could have been season-defining. Now they must focus on the next match, also against a potential rival for permanence and which will be broadcast live on Teledeporte. It will be played on Sunday, January 25th at 12:00 PM in the San Bartolomé Municipal Pavilion
