Martina Pérez Montesdeoca to debut as co-driver in the 43rd Orvecame-Isla de Lanzarote Rally

The young Lanzarote native and car enthusiast, Martina Pérez Montesdeoca, sees her dream of racing in the 43rd Orvecame-Isla de Lanzarote Rally come true with Escudería Lanzarote, as co-driver of Héctor Mácías, in an Opel Corsa GSI. Pérez's next goal, 19 years old and a law student, is to race in the Isla de Lanzarote Rally.

Pérez made her debut in the last test, which took place in the municipality of Teguise, specifically in the Guatiza-El Mojón section. "It was a totally rewarding experience. It will be a continuous addition with great enthusiasm. I am very eager to face the Lanzarote Rally, since the test was just a first contact, which helped both me and my driver to get to know each other. Without a doubt, my dream has come true and I am super happy," explains the co-driver.

The athlete started racing in karts when she was a child and her goal is to learn and race as a driver in the future. Passionate about the world of motorsport, at the age of 17 she trained as a rally driver with Flavio Alonso, Spanish champion. "She has worked hard to be in this rally, persevering and fighting for her passion," they point out from Escudería Lanzarote.

The conejera co-driver Martina expresses "feeling very safe in the car" and adds that she has "realized that the car is very safe" and that she is "very comfortable in the bucket seat and super focused on singing the notes well."

Escudería Lanzarote is pleased with the official debut of Pérez, who is part of the project and calendar for 2023 of the formation and collaboration "so that more women like Martina can achieve their dream of being a co-driver or driver or being within the organization of something as exciting as motorsport in Lanzarote."

"The struggle of society to achieve equality between men and women within sport and even more so within motorsport. It is demonstrated that the debut and the constant incorporation of co-drivers and drivers, as is the case of the young Martina Pérez Montesdeoca, is a success," they say from the team.

"Thanks to sponsors who have believed in her enthusiasm, such as Félix de León, Rubicón Shopping Center, El Pizquito Restaurant, her grandfather hahaha And her mother! She has family support, despite the risks involved in this sport...", they conclude from Escudería Lanzarote.
