The young karateka from the Poliarrecife Karate Club has achieved seventh place in the Karate World League, which was held from February 20 to 23 in Fujairah (United Arab Emirates), in the Female Cadet Kumite -61 kg category.

This event of the World Karate Federation, the first of the five events that make up the world circuit in 2025 of the WKF Karate1 Youth League, brought together more than 2,000 karatekas from 60 countries, and from the five continents, in the Sub21, Junior, Cadet and U14 categories.

After two victories in the previous qualifiers against competitors from the Philippines and Poland, Amelie fell in the quarterfinals against the competitor from Egypt who would end up winning the category.

In the repechage, she could not beat the representative of Individual Neutral Athletes (Russia) in the fight prior to the bronze medal match, which placed her in seventh place in the final classification, and as the best competitor from Spain in her category.

For Amelie Skiba, current Champion of the Canary Islands, and second in the Spanish absolute ranking, this confirms her good competitive level, also in the international arena.
