UD Lanzarote starts the year with an important victory, defeating UD Ibarra, who did not make it easy during the first half of the match. The Tenerife players hardened a match that ended up being too rough, with the referee showing eleven yellow cards and two direct red cards. The goals of the rojillos came in the second half, a period in which they had more attitude on the field. The second half started in an unbeatable way for the interests of UD Lanzarote, taking the lead in the 5th minute of the restart. Toñito executed a corner kick that was headed by Brad, the goalkeeper Rudy rejected the shot and the loose ball was taken advantage of by the central defender Francis Hernández to send it into the back of the net.
UD Ibarra continued to insist on hardening the game on the field, with mistimed tackles and playing very hard. The locals would increase the differences on the scoreboard in the 15th minute of the second half. A good shot by Mauri from the edge of the area surprised goalkeeper Rudy and became the second goal for the rojillos.
With a two-goal advantage, UD Lanzarote began to play the game they like the most. Wait for the opponent back and take advantage of the speed of players like Toñito, Mauri, Kennedy or Rosmen, on the counterattack. And the play that generated the third goal for the locals came on the counterattack. Toñito stood at speed inside the area and was knocked down by Palenzuela, with the referee pointing out the clear penalty. Rosmen executed the penalty and scored the third goal of the match.
With the score of 3 to 0, the match came to an end, a triumph that allows UD Lanzarote to remain at the top of the Third Division standings and continue to increase the differences with respect to the fifth classified.
