UD Lanzarote has kicked off its new sports project, with its sights set on the 2025/2026 season. After several years of consolidation in the Canarian group of the Third Federation, the club is committed to continuity and growth with Ángel López as the new coach of the first team.

The official presentation of the coach took place this Tuesday at the facilities of the CEPAL group, one of the main sponsors of the entity. The event was attended by the president of the club, Juan Carlos Albuixech, the general director, César Saavedra, as well as institutional representatives such as Juan Monzón, Councilor for Physical Activity and Sports of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, and Rosmen Quevedo, on behalf of the Arrecife City Council.

Albuixech highlighted that this new cycle is "the continuity of all the work we have done to earn trust and recover the rojillo feeling", and welcomed Ángel López, assuring that "we feel fortunate to have you with us".

For his part, the new coach explained that he has been "working for a month and a half so that we don't miss any details", and stressed his commitment to local talent: "We want a squad composed of 80% or 90% of players from the island, who connect with the fans and reinforce the sense of belonging".

López advocates setting realistic goals in the short term: "We already have a closed squad; now it's time to turn it into a competitive team, with identity and solidity," he said. In addition, he thanked the fans for their constant support, recognizing that "without them, football in these categories would not make sense. We must excite them and make them feel part of this project".

The manager of the CEPAL group, Arturo Rivadeneira, closed the event reaffirming the support to the club: "We continue one more season with UD Lanzarote and I am convinced that this year we are going to achieve it".

The team's preseason will officially begin next Monday, July 28, starting at 6:30 p.m., at the Ciudad Deportiva Lanzarote. With the aim of preparing an exciting campaign, UD Lanzarote returns to work with a clear commitment to island identity and sports growth.
