The Arrecife bay hosted on Saturday morning the celebration of the I A_Sailor Windsurfer Trophy, a competition organized by the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife and the sports brand A_Sailor. On a day complicated by continuous changes in wind direction and pressure, three of the four planned races were held, with Tomás Barreiro and Cristina Roca, both sailors from CD Los Charcos, emerging as winners of the competition.
The I A_Sailor Windsurfer Trophy had the participation of 19 athletes, and all of them faced a day in which the wind blew with an intensity of 7 to 21 knots from the north or northeast. Luis Lemes was at the head of the Race Committee, being in charge of setting up the course in the bay of Arrecife, which all participants enjoyed.
In the first race of the morning, Jesús Pintos (RCN La Coruña) took the victory, ahead of Manuel Barreiro (CD Los Charcos) and Domingo Trujillo. The second and third races of the A_Sailor Windsurfer Trophy were won by Eric Yoldjoglou (RCN de Arrecife), a sailor who suffered an early start disqualification in the first race, which prevented him from fighting for the final victory of the competition.
Tomás Barreiro (CD Los Charcos) took the victory in the A_Sailor Windsurfer Trophy, achieving a fourth position in the first race of the day and two second places. The second step of the podium was occupied by Jesús Pintos (RCN La Coruña), and the podium was completed with the third place of Manuel Barreiro (CD Los Charcos). In the women's category, the final victory went to Cristina Roca (CD Los Charcos).
The A_Sailor Windsurfer Trophy concluded with the awards ceremony, an event attended by Sue González, a director of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, and Mariano Stinga as a representative of the sports brand A_Sailor. They were accompanied by Manuel Torres, Nautical Captain of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, and Luis Lemes, head of the Race Committee, who did an extraordinary job throughout the entire regatta to carry out the competition.
