The bay of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria hosted this past weekend the XXXV Princess of Asturias Trophy, a scoring event for the Spanish Cup of Cruisers – Canary Islands Zone, and which was attended by four boats from the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife. After two intense days of regattas, Ye Cabrera's Lanzarote Sailing Paradise was classified in the third position of the general classification and also of the ORC 0-3 class.
The XXXV Princess of Asturias Trophy – Spanish Cup of Cruisers, organized by the Real Club Náutico de Gran Canaria, was attended by 23 boats, from different parts of the archipelago. The Real Club Náutico de Arrecife was attended by Ye Cabrera's Lanzarote Sailing Paradise, Miguel Pérez's Pionene, Antonio Luis Hernández's Sorcery and Pedro Jesús Rodríguez's Manitu.
Saturday's day, in which two races were held, was marked by different wind conditions, with light breezes, and which gave way to a Sunday with gusty winds with changes of direction, which demanded the most from the skippers and crews.
The Lanzarote Sailing Paradise starred in a fairly regular competition, being fourth in the two races held on Saturday, and took the victory in the coastal race on Sunday which had a route of 16.5 miles, after 2 hours, 44 minutes and 4 seconds of navigation.
These results allow the Lanzarote Sailing Paradise to be the third classified in the XXXV Princess of Asturias Trophy, and also to take the third position in the ORC 0-3 class. As for the rest of the representatives of the Real Club Náutico de Arrecife, Miguel Pérez's Pionene was classified in 12th place, Antonio Luis Hernández's Sorcery in 13th position and Pedro Jesús Rodríguez's Manitu in 22nd place.
