The President of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, has confirmed the realization of the XXXII edition of Ironman Lanzarote on May 18, a triathlon organized by Club La Santa and the first island corporation, with the sponsorship of Lanzarote European Destination by Turismo Lanzarote.
“Beyond a sporting event, the Ironman is already an identity of the island of Lanzarote, so it was very important for us to guarantee its celebration,” said the president and tourism advisor, Oswaldo Betancort.
Registration for the king event of world triathlon will open soon.
The Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón, has positively valued the confirmation of a new edition of the Ironman on the island. “This race is marked in red on our calendar, and we are sure that many athletes of different nationalities will meet in Lanzarote next May.”
Ironman Lanzarote has historically been an economic incentive and a positioning of the island at an international level, which has allowed the promotion of a sporting event that bears the seal of our island. In addition, it has also involved during all these years the deployment of hundreds of island volunteers, who selflessly want to collaborate in the development of one of the most important sporting events on the calendar.
