Presentation of the Rally Isla de los Volcanes at Fitur

The XXVI Isla de los Volcanes-Ciudad de Arrecife Land Rally Trophy was presented this Thursday for the first time within the framework of FITUR, the International Tourism Fair that is taking place this week in Madrid. A representation of the organizing club Evesport arrived in the capital of the kingdom, with its president José Víctor Rodríguez at the head, for this first social act of the Lanzarote event and its main novelty with the entry into the Spanish Land Rally Championship - CERT Rallycar 2024.

The event took place at the CICAR company stand, one of the main sponsors and collaborators of RTIV24, with a large influx of media from all the islands and other regions, as well as many professionals from the tourism sector who were attending FITUR in the Canary Islands pavilion. But above all, the presentation had a very large institutional support, with the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote Oswaldo Betancort, as promoter of the event and committed to continue aiming very high with the Isla de los Volcanes Rally. And on the sports side with the president of the RFEDA and vice president of the FIA, Manuel Aviñó.

On the giant screen of the Cabrera Medina Group stand, a summary video was projected with images from the past edition that have gone around the world and later the poster for the 26th edition of the RTIV and the official shirt made of 100% ecological fabric were revealed, a moment that was used for the official photo of the presentation with all the personalities in attendance: Angeles Cabrera and Mamerto Cabrera, managing directors of the Cabrera Medina Group (CICAR and Orvecame); Juan Pablo Marrero, passenger director of the official carrier Navier Armas; Miguel Angel Domínguez, president of the FALP; On the municipal side, Jonathan de León, mayor of Arrecife, was present; Oscar Noda, mayor of Yaiza; Jesús Machín, mayor of Tinajo; Pepe Juan Cruz, mayor of Tías; Olivia Duque, mayoress of Villa de Teguise, as well as several other councilors from the Sports and Tourism areas of the Lanzarote municipalities. And on behalf of the first insular institution, the president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and La Graciosa Oswaldo Betancort, was accompanied by the vice president Jacobo Medina and the Minister of Sports, Juan Monzón.

Betancort closed the event by addressing Manuel Aviñó in particular as the highest representative of motorsport, whom he thanked for the trust placed in the Cabildo and in the organization of the event to return to a Spanish Championship: "Lanzarote can never lose credibility, neither nationally nor internationally and that is why we thank you for that support on behalf of the entire human team that is behind the rally and before this entire social sector that accompanies us here at FITUR... But I believe that once we have reached this ceiling, we have to go much further and open new doors to the world of motorsport on our island, because my objective as president is to create economy and employment for our people and with this event and others that may come, I am sure that we can achieve very important objectives for everyone and place Lanzarote in the spotlight of motorsport fans in all its facets."

Manuel Aviñó took these words and confirmed that "the organization of Evesport and the Cabildo de Lanzarote have earned with that effort the credibility and respect that at the time could be questioned and that he was convinced that these new objectives are possible, as well as a rally of great level in the next edition of the Isla de los Volcanes".

The organization of CD. Evesport also appreciates the fundamental collaboration of the Cabrera Medina Group to be able to carry out this presentation at FITUR at the CICAR stand, especially to the entire human and professional team of this Canarian company. An act that is in accordance with the new dimension of the event in the national and international scene where it wants to continue climbing positions.
