The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Island Sports Service, will celebrate the XXV Christmas Gymnastics Festival, an event that will take place from 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19 at the Lanzarote Sports City.
A total of 394 gymnasts will participate in the Festival and an audience of 800 people is expected per session. There will be one session at 6:00 p.m. and another at 8:30 p.m. with 197 participants in each.
The participating clubs in the first session and in this order will be the Island Sports Service, CRD Acrodance, Santa María de los Volcanes Nazaret School, Ampa Diamar San Bartolomé, Tenesa Sol Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, Amqor Tigotán Artistic Gymnastics Club, Isla de Lanzarote Gymnastics Club and Ayatima Rhythmic Gymnastics Club.
The Island Sports Service, Ayatima Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, Capellanía del Yágabo, Island Sports Service, Praxis Gymnastics Club, Tenesa Sol Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, Isla de Lanzarote Gymnastics Club and Amqor Tigotán Artistic Gymnastics Club will participate in the second session.
Solidarity Goal
As in previous years, the Christmas Gymnastics Festival will involve the installation of a 'Solidarity Goal' to collect food and toys that the NGOs Cáritas Lanzarote and Calor y Café will be responsible for distributing among the neediest families on the island.
To this end, the formula 'One ticket for one food or toy' will be applied again, whereby spectators, even though the event is free, will be able to deposit food and toys in the 'Solidarity Goal' installed from 6:00 p.m. at the entrance to the venue in exchange for a ticket to access the show offered by hundreds of boys and girls from eight gymnastics clubs on the island. All those people who want to collaborate without attending the Festival can also deposit food.
