The Club Lucha Unión Norte was proclaimed champion of the La Fundación La Caja de Canarias Tournament last Friday night. Los Norteños won 12 to 11 against CL Unión Sur Tías, in a final "full of emotion" and "a lot of spectacle.". Gran Canarian Arasahi Tejera Álamo gave the victory to his team, after prevailing in the decisive grapple against the unclassified fighter, Octavio Perera.
The municipal arena of Tao, Andrés Curbelo Pollo de Tao, was full to the brim. According to the organizers, more than 800 people witnessed the final; filling the stands with expectation and chants in support of both teams. There were moments when these deafened the nerves of the final.
Unión Sur Tías reached the final directly; winning all the fights in the regular phase. In which they beat the Norteño team forcefully.
