The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, traveled this Friday to Madrid to the presentation of the XXX edition of Ironman Lanzarote. It took place at the headquarters of the Higher Sports Council, the president paid tribute to this competition promoted by Club La Santa and which has the support of the Cabildo since its beginnings on the Island.

The president expressed her gratitude to those present at this tribute to the "most prestigious" sporting event in Lanzarote and to Club La Santa "for making it possible for it to have been held in the lands of Lanzarote for 30 years." "Without fully understanding the international impact and prestige that it would achieve over time, the truth is that 30 years have passed since Club La Santa launched that demanding sporting challenge, which tests the limits of human capacity," he said.

Dolores Corujo stressed the involvement and support of the Cabildo with Ironman Lanzarote and with island sports, especially after the pandemic situation experienced in the last two years. "It is great news that the anniversary of this competition coincides with the end of the restrictions imposed by the pandemic, and that, once again, it will welcome prominent triathletes from all corners of the world," the president acknowledged.

"We are prepared to celebrate a new edition of Ironman, the most outstanding event of the annual sports program organized by Club La Santa, and which is a pioneer in Europe, and we do so from the conviction that this type of event contributes to consolidating the Lanzarote brand as a privileged destination among people who love sports," Corujo said.
