From June 5 to 9, the Suhari Karate Club represented Lanzarote in the prestigious Andorra International Open – Xavi Karate Cup, one of the most unique competitions on the calendar, where sport meets camaraderie and comprehensive training of young karatekas. The island team signed an outstanding performance with 14 medals (2 golds, 4 silvers and 8 bronzes), but above all it earned recognition for its exemplary behavior on and off the tatami.

The event, held in the Principality of Andorra, brought together clubs from all over Spain and France in an atmosphere of great sportsmanship. For the members of Suhari, it was not only a competition, but an opportunity to "strengthen ties, get to know each other, create bonds and build a team", as stated by the club's organization.

Among the most outstanding achievements, Laura Salvador was proclaimed champion in Kumite Cadet +52kg and added two silvers in kata, while Omar Moriano took the gold in Kumite Open Master and the bronze in kata in the same category. Mauro Rodríguez, Diego González, Alexia Moriano, Nagore Guerrero, Jimena Padilla, Aimar Cabrera, Dimas Viñoly and Marco Guerrero also took to the podium, with excellent performances in kumite.

In addition, the team was praised by other clubs for its respect, attitude, education and combativeness, which for its managers "is the best medal our competitors can receive".

The expedition was masterfully led by coaches Harry Stewart, Mikel González and Silvia del Castillo, who knew how to get the best out of each athlete. The support of the families was also fundamental, and especially Bill's, whose work capturing the most emotional moments of the trip was recognized by all: "You have the gift of capturing moments, and that is magical".

The Suhari Karate Club thus closes its season with a more than positive balance, prepared to continue growing and setting the bar very high, both in sports and in human terms.
