The player from the Tiñoso youth academy Martha Padrón Olsson has finally been proclaimed runner-up in Kosovo with the Spanish Promises team after falling in the final of the Mediterranean Women's Championship Kosovo 2026 against Croatia (24-32).
According to the national coach, Miguel Echevarría, the warriors "have had a fantastic fifteen days at the CAR, with a very good week of work, for such a young group as this, very enriching. The day-to-day has been very good: the behavior, the attitude, the desire to improve and to polish details. I think that was the objective with which we came." In relation to the sporting aspect, he argued that the team had "a very good group stage, but in the last match the accumulated fatigue took its toll. Today we no longer had the strength. We couldn't be as we would have liked, but the team gave it their all, they tried and it couldn't be."
The Spanish women reached the final of the Mediterranean Championship after winning in a highly demanding group with top-level rivals such as Romania and Montenegro (26-24 and 23-19), also beating Kosovo, Turkey, and Bulgaria.
In short, first international experience for this generation of Spanish warriors, with the scabby Martha Padrón, which ends with a more than positive result.
The president of CB Puerto del Carmen, Félix Montelongo, congratulates "Martha, our tiñosera youth player, for having proudly competed in this Mediterranean Women's Kosovo Championship with the Spanish Women's Promises National Team. We love that she continues to grow and accumulate experiences in the national team with CB Puerto del Carmen in her heart. Congratulations, tiñosera".
